Kiosk Setup Quick Start

This guide walks you through setting up your Voisee tablet once it arrives — start to finish in about 10 minutes.

Before you begin

  • Your Voisee Android Tablet
  • The email address you used to sign up for Voisee
  • Wi-Fi credentials — the network name and password for your Wi-Fi. You can change these later if you are installing the device somewhere else.
  • A power source nearby — the kiosk tablet should remain plugged in at all times to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Setup screens at a glance

The five screens you will see on the your Voisee tablet as you set it up are shown below in order. Click any image to see a larger version. Each screen is described in detail in the steps that follow.

Screen 1 — Welcome
Connect to Wi-Fi

Open Voisee in the tablet browser.

You'll see the Welcome to Voisee screen with two steps listed. Tap the screen five times. When prompted, enter the passcode 204747.

The tablet's Wi-Fi browser opens — choose your network and enter the password if required.

Once connected, a green Connected indicator appears next to Step 2. Tap the button to continue.

Sign in to Voisee
Enter the email address you used to sign up with Voisee and tap Send code. Voisee will email a 6-digit one-time code to that address.

Screen 3 — Email verification
Enter the one-time code
Check your email for a message from Voisee. Enter the 6-digit code into the One-time code field and tap Sign in. If the code doesn't arrive within a minute, tap Resend code.

Screen 4 — Room setup
Name this device and create a room

The Let's set up your Voisee screen has two sections:

This Device: The device has been given a name by the Voisee team. You can change this to something more recognizable (e.g. Mom's Kitchen Tablet) or leave it as is.

Room: Enter a Room name — this is what callers will type to reach this device (e.g. Mom Compass Harbor). It is case-sensitive. Then set an Entry password and confirm it.

Share both the room name and password with anyone who should be able to call in.

Tap Finish setup.

Screen 5 — Kiosk mode
Start kiosk mode

The Kiosk Mode screen confirms your room name and prompts for the password. Enter the password and tap Start Kiosk.

The device will now automatically answer all incoming calls without any interaction needed from your family member. The screen should remain on and plugged in at all times. When not in a call, the screen displays a subtle clock and the device's room name.

Setup complete. The tablet is ready. Share the room name and password with callers — they can connect from any device using the Voisee caller screen.

Troubleshooting

Wi-Fi browser doesn't open after tapping five times
Make sure all five taps are on the main screen area (not a button). Try tapping slowly and deliberately.
Sign-in code never arrives
Check your spam/junk folder. Tap Resend code on the verification screen. Codes expire after a few minutes — if it's been a while, request a fresh one.
Callers can't connect — "room not found"
Room names are case-sensitive. Confirm the caller is entering the room name and password exactly as you set them. Also verify the tablet is still in kiosk mode (the screen should show the kiosk standby state).
